Program:

The COST Canadian Tax Workshop for US Companies covers the key tax issues U.S. companies who are doing business with Canadians or in Canada need to know. The primary focus of the Workshop will be on GST, HST and Income Tax but will also cover QST, Payroll and Property Taxes. Attendees will also participate in an interactive audit session covering Canadian tax issues that they’ve been dealing with.  Only employees of COST member and non-COST member companies are invited to attend. The program is targeted to all levels of experience and no advance preparation is needed.

The program starts on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. and ends on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.

Transportation:

Taxi (approx. $75) and Rideshares (approx. $30 - $60) are accessible outside of baggage.

Denver Airport Rail- Travelers can now use A Line, the new rail service from Denver International Airport to LoDo's (lower downtown) Union Station and back, provided by Regional Transportation District (RTD).  The Denver airport rail has six stops along the way and takes approximately 37 minutes at a cost of $9 each way.

16th Street Shuttle – Runs throughout the central business and entertainment district of downtown Denver.

Light Rail Service/RTD – Stops at most corners in the city, including Invesco Field, Pepsi Center/Six Flags/Elitch Gardens, Union Station - Lower downtown (LODO)/Coors Field/16th Street Mall.

Cancellation Fees
:

A $50 cancellation fee will be imposed for cancellations received on or before September 30, 2024; cancellations after September 30th will not be refunded.

Continuing Education:

COST will assist you in applying for Continuing Education credit for the COST 2024 Canadian Tax Workshop. COST is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.learningmarket.org.

Weather:

October’s average high in Denver is in the mid to upper 60’s and the average low is in the high 30’s. Dress for the conference is business casual.  We encourage you to bring a sweater or jacket to the meeting as the meeting rooms tend to be on the cooler side.
